Get Out and Make a Difference This Weekend

And maybe see a show?

Another weekend is fast approaching, and you're wondering what's going on in and around Lynnfield.

You have plenty of chances to do something charitable, including a cystic fibrosis walks, a yard sale, a road race, and a blood drive. 

Or, you could head over to neighboring Reading and catch a show.

When/Where: 240 Essex St, Lynnfield, Saturday, 8:00am–2:00pm.

Why Go: Head to a yard/bake sale right in town this weekend, and support SEEM Collaborative/Campus Academy in getting the Freedom Writer's to speak at the school.The staff of Campus would like to have a couple of the Freedom Writers speak  at the school but need your help to cover the costs. All proceeds will go towards this cause.

2. 

When/Where: , (55 Hopkins St., Reading), Sunday, 2:00pm.

Why Go: Check out Reading's own black box theater as they stage Arthur Miller’s Tony Award-winning play All My Sons. Here's a free preview: two years after the end of World War II, the idyllic world of the Keller family cracks when their son Chris brings home the fiancée of his brother Larry, who is still missing in action. His mother is forced to confront her denial, his father is forced to face his responsibility and Chris is forced to question his idealism. Head over to the show Sunday afternoon for the live show.

When/Where: Lynnfield Town Common, Sunday, 11:00 am, Registration is at 10:00 am. 

Why Go: Head to the Lynnfield Common on Sunday to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis. Every year the funds raised at this event directly help people with CF and tremendously improve the quality of their lives. Support people such as Joey Distefano, who has suffered from the disease since he was two months old. Keep your eyes peeled for Jammin' Joey's Team.

4. 

When/Where: , (51 Symonds Way, Reading), Saturday, 9:00am.

Why Go: Why not get some exercise and help out a good cause? Take part in the 25th annual Lions Club Road Race. You might even be one of the lucky winners who receives a cash prize for being a top runner. All proceeds support Mass Lions Eye Research Fund. 

Pricing: $20 

5. 

When/Where: 585 Lebanon St, Melrose (Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Cafeteria and exam rooms), Saturday,  9:00am–3:00pm.

Why Go: Do something charitable this weekend and give blood. Not only will you get a good dead under your belt, but you will receive Free Whopper Value Meal coupon from Burger King.
