Five Things You Need To Know Today: May 25

Town announces Monday morning Memorial Day parade, observance.

Today is Wednesday, May 25. Here are five things you need to know:

Town Business: There is an assessors meeting at 5 p.m. in the assessor's office at town hall. There is also a planning board meeting at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.

Pioneer Sports Action: At 3:30 p.m., the boys varsity tennis team is on the road against North Reading, while the girls varsity team plays that team at home, also at 3:30. At 3:45 p.m., the varsity and junior varsity softball teams play at home against North Reading at 3:45 p.m.

Memorial Day Parade: The town has announced that its annual Memorial Day Parade and Observance will be on Monday, May 30 with the parade mustering in the parking lot of Our Lady of Assumption Church at 8:15 a.m. followed by ceremonies at two of the town's cemeteries. From there, the parade leaves the Middle School at 10 a.m. and runs to the common, where final ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m.
