Today is Tuesday, May 24. Here are five things you need to know.

Town business: The School Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. in the LHS Media Center.

Lynnfield Idol Final: Tonight's the night when we get to find out who the new Lynnfield Idol is. The singing competition final is from 7-10 p.m. tonight at the auditorium. Admission is $5.

Historical Society Annual Meeting: The Lynnfield Historical Society holds its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Old Meeting House. Local storyteller Andrea Lovett will be giving her performance "1918 Kate O'Malley" as well.

Pioneer Sports: The boys varsity tennis team plays Masco at home at 3:30 p.m., while the girls play that opponent on the road, also at 3:30 p.m. Boys varsity and junior varsity baseball both play at North Reading at 3:45 p.m., while the boys varsity lacrosse team plays at home at 4 p.m. against North Reading – followed by a junior varsity game at 5:30 p.m.

Elder Abuse Awareness: The is hosting a free play at 12:15 p.m. today called Voices Of Hope, which is aimed at raising awareness about the problem of elder abuse and neglect. The play is presented by the Elder Justice Network of the Greater North Shore and features actors from the Peabody Senior Center.
