Five Things You Need To Know Today: May 11

Youth basketball clinic tomorrow night for grades 3-8.

Today is Wednesday, May 10. Here are five things you need to know.

Town Business: There is a meeting of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council from 8:30-10 a.m. at in the selectmen's meeting room. Items on the agenda include an update on Lynnfield planning issues and the regionalization of housing services. At 5 p.m there is an assessor's meeting at the assessor's office at town hall.

Youth Basketball Clinic: Tomorrow, UMass Lowell Women's Basketball Coach Sarah Behn will be in Lynnfield to conduct a basketball camp for players in grades 3-8. There is a 6-7 p.m. session for the boys and a 7-8 p.m. session for the girls, with a $5 fee. Registration online is at www.behncamp.com under "clinics" while those choosing to pay at the door are asked to arrive 15 minutes early.

Pioneer Sports Action: The boys and girls varsity tennis teams are playing Masco at 3:30 p.m. The girls team is on the road and the boys team is at home. The girls varsity and junior varsity softball teams are both at home against Georgetown at 3:45 p.m. Finally, the varsity track team has a 3:30 p.m. meet at Newburyport High School.

Lynnfield Education Trust: The Lynnfield Education Trust has a meeting scheduled tonight for 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Media Center. The trust is a volunteer group consisting of parents of school-aged children and others with an interest in enhancing educational opportunities for students in town.

Aladdin Jr. Tickets: Individuals who would like to see the Lynnfield Community Schools production of Aladdin Jr. this weekend can get tickets in the lobby today from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are also for sale an hour before each performance. Performances are set for Saturday, May 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the high school.
