Five Things You Need To Know Today: May 10

School Committee hearing on school choice tonight, Traveling World War II exhibit on the common today.

Today is Tuesday, May 10. Here are five things you need to know.

Town Business: The Conservation Commission meets at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m. There is also a school committee meeting at 7 p.m. in the High School Media Center, with a hearing on school choice among the items on the agenda.

World War II Exhibit: A nonprofit group called Traces is bringing a traveling history exhibit to town today focusing on German POWs in the U.S. during World War II. In fact, there were more than 600 of these POW camps across the country during the war, including in Massachusetts. The exhibit will be on a bus on the town common and viewable from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.  For more, .

Student Job Shadowing: Next week (Tues. May 17 and Wed. May 18), the Lynnfield Business Coalition offers its annual job shadowing career day program, where LHS juniors are matched with professionals working in their fields of interest. If you are interested in hosting a student for the day and being added to the LBC's database, email shadow@lbchome.org.

Design Show: Lynnfield designer (and Lynnfield Patch columnist) Yvonne Blacker's work will be included in the North Shore Design Show to benefit the Wenham Museum. The Three Galleries of Designer Vignettes exhibit is open from May 14-22 with $10 advance admission and $15 at the door. For more information, click here.

LHS Pioneer Sports: At 3:45 p.m., the varsity and junior varsity baseball teams have road games at Georgetown High School. Girls varsity tennis is at home against Rockport at 3:30 p.m. The boys varsity lacrosse team plays Cambridge Rindge & Latin at home at 4 p.m., while the junior varsity team plays the same opponent at 5:30 p.m., also at home.
