Five Things You Need To Know: September 8

Lynnfield Youth Soccer Club (LYSC) is still accepting registrations for the Fall 2011 season for its U6 age groups.

Today is Thursday, September 8, 2011. Here are five things you need to know.

Library Activity: Today at 3:45 p.m., the will celebrate the birthday of children's author and poet Jack Prelutsky. Prelutsky's titles include "My Dog May Be A Genius," and "It's Raining Pigs And Noodles."

SEPAC Meeting: On Wednesday, September 21, the Lynnfield Special Education Parents Advisor Council meets at the from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Dr. Thomas Jefferson, superintendent of Lynnfield schools, is expected to attend. For more information, call the Special Services Office at 781-581-5140.

Youth Soccer: The Lynnfield Youth Soccer Club (LYSC) is still accepting registrations for the Fall 2011 season for its U6 age groups.  A late fee will apply at this point, but interested participants can register, by going to www.lynnfieldsoccer.com and click "Online Registration". LYSC's U6 age group is one of the few activities available for 4 year olds.  To see if your child is eligible, go to www.lynnfieldsoccer.com today.  Opening Day is Sunday 9/11. 

Memorial 5K: The 8th annual OD's Memorial Run/Walk, in memory of Johnny O'Donnell of Lynnfield, is on Sunday, September 25 starting at 10 a.m., with an 8:30 a.m. registration. Click here for more information.

LHS Sports: Today, the girls field hockey team takes on Georgetown at home, with the varsity players starting at 3:45 p.m. and the junior varsity players set for 5:30 p.m. The boys varsity soccer team is also at home against Danvers at 3:45 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. start for the JV game.
