Today is Monday, September 26th. Here are five things you need to know.

Annual Book Sale: The annual Friends of the book sale is coming up in a few weeks – Friday, October 14th and Saturday, October 15th. Do you have some books, CDs or DVDs you would like to donate? Call 781-608-4179.

Town Business: Tonight at 7 p.m., there is a selectmen's meeting at town hall. Tomorrow night the conservation commission meets at 6:30 p.m. at .

Pioneer Sports: Today at 3:30 p.m. the junior varsity football team plays at Bishop Fenwick, while the varsity golf team is at Amesbury High School, also at that time. At 3:45 p.m. the cross country team is on the road against Masconomet and Georgetown. Also, girls varsity volleyball plays North Reading at 4 p.m. with a junior varsity game at 5:30 p.m.

Teen Brunch Book Club: Looking ahead to next weekend, the library is featuring the first meeting of its Teen Brunch Book Club. Teens aged 13-18 are invited at noon on Saturday, October 1 to bring their favorite book and their library card and to enjoy some bagels, donut holes and coffee.

Small Business Forum: Later this week, State Senator Katherine Clark hosts a morning small business forum that focuses on state financing programs. Joining her will be state reps. Paul Brodeur and Donald Wong. The forum is Wednesday, September 28 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main Street, Wakefield.
