Five Things You Need To Know: September 19

Special Education Parents Advisory Council meets tonight at Lynnfield Preschool.

Today is Wednesday, September 19. Here are five things you need to know.

SEPAC Meeting: On Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.. at Lynnfield Preschool, the Lynnfield Special Education Parents Advisory Council  holds its first meeting of the school year, withLynnfield School Superintendent Dr. Thomas Jefferson and Lynnfield School Committee SEPAC liaison Dr. Salvatore Cammarata. They will also be introducing the Community Connections social and fund-raising event being planned for April 2013.

Mixing In Math: Today at 3:30 p.m., the Lynnfield Library has its “Mixing In Math” group, an after-school club for grades 1 to 4 that focuses on various math concepts through games and activities. No registration required.

From The Torigian YMCA: The Torigian YMCA located on Lynnfield Street in Peabody is hosting an interactive lecture in partnership with Harmeling Physical Therapy.  “Exercise Tips for Moms:  Feel Strong, Be Strong.” This is for all moms – new and experienced – looking to strengthen their core and pelvic floor, review proper biomechanics when handling children and learn safe exercise guidelines that will lead to a stronger healthier woman!  Sign up today to learn how to “restore your core”.  This event is FREE to the community and you will also receive a free two week YMCA pass for attending!  The presentation is scheduled for Thursday September 27 at 7 pm at the YMCA.  Refreshments and FREE childcare will be available to those attending the event.  For more information or to sign up, please contact Sheela at sheela@ harmelingpt.com or Kathleen Walsh at kwalsh@metronorthymca.org.

Flu Clinic Coming Up: The Lynnfield Health Department will be holding a flu clinic for the general public ages 19 and older on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Lynnfield Council on Aging, 525 Salem Street, Lynnfield from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Non Lynnfield residents are welcome. Please bring all insurance cards. Most insurance is accepted. There will be a $10 fee for insurances that will not cover flu immunizations. Please wear short sleeves.

OD’s Run/Walk: The 9th annual OD’s Memorial 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, September 30. Held in memory of Johnny O’Donnell, the event begins and ends at Lynnfield High School, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. and the run/walk starting at 10 a.m. Proceeds benefit the John O’Donnell Memorial Scholarship Fund. Pre-registration is $15 and the day of the event it’s $20.
