LHS sports: There are several away games today. The girls soccer team is at Gloucester, with the varsity and junior varsity games both set for 4 p.m. There is a 3:45 p.m. varsity field hockey game at Rockport, with the junior varsity game at 5:15 p.m., and the golf team plays at 3:30 p.m. at Amesbury.

Lynnfield Republican Committee: The Republican Town Committee meets tonight at at 7 p.m.

Lynnfield Senior Center: Today at the at noon, Heather Hurd of Blue Cross/Blue Shield will give a presentation on health options for new retirees. Next Thursday at 12:30 p.m., the Senior Center is offering a presentation on recommended vaccines for older adults, while on September 29th,  a diabetes presentation is planned.

Lynnfield Art Guild: The Lynnfield Art Guild meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the . Special guest will be multimedia artist Tom Sutherland, who will demonstrate water color painting techniques. .

Fundraiser At Sheraton Colonial: The Center for Performing Arts in Wakefield is hosting a fundraiser : An Evening in Monte Carlo at the Sheraton Colonial , September 24, 2011. 7-11pm. It will offer casino games, comedy of Paul D'Angelo, music of Audie Bridges' trio, passed appetizers, desserts, cash bar and silent auction and raffle items, including a signed Boston Bruins hockey stick, getaways, artwork and much more.
