Five Things You Need To Know: October 7

Today is Friday, October 7th. Here are five things you need to know.

Popcorn Fundraiser: Lynnfield's Cub Scout Pack 47 is holding a popcorn sale tomorrow morning – Saturday, October 8th – to raise money for scouting and to also send some popcorn to U.S. troops serving overseas. The fundraiser is at the South Lynnfield Post Office from 9 a.m. to noon.

Hockey Car Wash: On Sunday, it's the LHS hockey team's turn to raise money in the South Lynnfield Post Office parking lot, with a car wash fundraiser that runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LHS Sports: Today at 3:45 p.m., the girls varsity and JV teams play Ipswich at home, while the boys teams play road games against that opponent. At 4 p.m., girls varsity volleyball is at home against Saugus with the JV game at 5:30 p.m.

Flu clinic canceled: A reminder that the Board of Health flu clinic that was scheduled for today at the Lynnfield Senior Center has been postponed. A new date will be announced shortly.

Fiesta Story Time: The library's Fiesta Story Time is held on the first Friday of the month from 3 to 3:45 p.m. And that happens to be today. Geared toward ages 2-6, the First Friday Fiesta story time features songs and stories in Spanish and English.
