LHS Fall Coffeehouse is tonight at 7 p.m. in school cafeteria.

Today is Wednesday, October 5. Here are five things you need to know.

Fall Coffeehouse: Tonight at 7 p.m., students will showcase their talent at the fall coffeehouse in the school cafeteria.  

Got Pumpkins? Next Saturday, October 15, the holds its first Pumpkin Patch fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by and pick up your pumpkins for Halloween and bring the whole family for some fun activities, including a moon bounce for the kids.

LHS Sports (weather permitting): Today at 3:45 p.m., the boys junior varsity soccer team has a home game against Newburyport. The girls varsity and JV teams have road games, also at 3:45 p.m., at Newburyport.  Girls varsity volleyball has a game at Beverly High School at 4 p.m., with a 5:30 p.m. game for the JV teams. Also, the girls JV field hockey team has a 5:30 p.m. game at Triton, with the varsity teams playing at 7 p.m.

Game Day: The holds its Game Day today starting at 12:15 p.m. Players can compete for prizes in games that include cribbage, mah jong, pokeno, dominos, and scrabble.

Legislative Hearing: Today at the State House, legislation supported by State Senator Katherine Clark comes up for a 1 p.m. hearing before the Joint Committee on the Judiciary. The legislation would allow pets to be included in domestic violence restraining orders, since abusers often threaten family pets as a way of manipulating their victims.
