Five Things You Need To Know: October 25

Today is Tuesday, October 25th. Here are five things you need to know:

Ghosts At The Meeting House: This month's meeting of the Lynnfield Historical Society – tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Meeting House - features a film presentation by Dan Tremblay on New England ghosts. Attendees are also encouraged to share their own ghost stories.

Free Blood Pressure Check: Are you concerned about your blood pressure? Then you might be interested to learn that on Tuesday's at 10 a.m., the Lynnfield Senior Center offers a free blood pressure check.

Football Rally Dinner/Fundraiser: The Monday before the big LHS/North Reading Thanksgiving football game (Nov. 21), drop by the Ninety-Nine restaurant in Lynnfield from 5 to 8 p.m. for a rally dinner and fundraiser. Customers will be able to have 15 percent of their dining tab donated to the Friends of Lynnfield Football.

Today's LHS Sports: There is a varsity cross country meet at home against North Reading at 3:45 p.m. Also at 3:45 p.m., the boys and girls varsity and JV soccer teams all play against Pentucket. The boys will be playing on the road and the girls will be the home team. At 5 p.m., the girls JV field hockey team plays at Newburyport, followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

Lynnfield Youth Basketball: Tryouts for the Lynnfield Youth Basketball travel teams are getting underway at the middle school this week and run as noted below. (Participants are also asked to bring a basketball to the tryouts).
