Five Things You Need To Know: October 15

Fall meeting scheduled for tonight at 7:30 p.m. at middle school, provided enough people show up for a quorum.

Today is Monday, October 15. Here are five things you need to know.

Town Meeting Tonight: Tonight is the fall town meeting in Lynnfield at 7:30 p.m. at the middle school. Here is a look at what voters will be asked to consider. As many may recall, last year’s fall town meeting had to be canceled when too few people showed up for a quorum.

Ghost Stories: This Wednesday, October 17th at 11:15 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Essex Street, the Centre Club of the North Shore holds a presentation by local film producer Dan Tremblay on “Ghost Stories Of New England.” Click here for more information.

Benefit For Homeless Pets: Many of you may have seen the columns that run each weekend on local Patch.com websites highlighting the various pets that Wakefield-based nonprofit group PAWS has available for adoption.  This Saturday, Oct. 27, there’s a benefit concert for PAWS at Kowloon on Route 1 in Saugus featuring Shirley Alston Reeves, original Shirelles lead singer and a 1996 Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inductee. For reservations, call 781-233-0077 and mention PAWS for preferred seating. Tickets are $30 and include the concert, not food or beverages. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

From The Lynnfield Senior Center - Indoor Gardening: Our own Bob Tremblay will be back to discuss indoor gardening. Learn how to winterize your garden, how to bring some of your plants in and prepare them for wintering along with quarantining and debugging them so as to not spread disease. Thursday, Oct.25th at 12:30. Free. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by 12 noon the day before. Please sign up separately for the lunch and the lecture.
