Five Things You Need To Know: November 5

Volleyball and boys soccer teams continuing MIAA Tournament action this week. Friday, Lynnfield Community Church presents its first coffee house event.

Today is Monday, November 5. Here are five things you need to know.

MIAA Tournament: Congratulations to the LHS field hockey team on a strong season. They went 11-4-3 and lost a quarterfinal game over the weekend to Manchester Essex, 4-0. Last week, they beat Pentucket in a first round tournament game, 4-1.

In other MIAA tournament action, Lynnfield High School boys soccer has a division 3 quarterfinal game Tuesday against Newburyport with a location still TBA as of Sunday evening. And tonight at LHS at 7 p.m., the girls volleyball team has an MIAA quarterfinal game against St. Joseph.

Coffee House: Looking ahead to the weekend, the Lynnfield Community Church at 735 Salem Street presents its first coffee house event, featuring folk and alternative music singer Don Hammontree. Entrance is free, all by donation. Doors open 7:30 p.m. Looking ahead, LCC’s coffee house events will be on the second and fourth Fridays of the month.

Monkiewich Foundation Christmas Gala: The Stacee L. Monkiewicz Foundation has announced that its 2012 Christmas Gala is Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Colonial. Tickets are $60 each or $100 per couple. Proceeds will help further the goal of establishing a recreation center in Lynnfield. You can register for the event here.
