Five Things You Need To Know: November 1st

Four-part presentation on George and Ira Gershwin gets underway today at the Old Meeting House.

Today is Tuesday, November 1st. Here are five things you need to know:

Calling All Gershwin Fans: For November, the library has announced that Bill Sano, an area choral director, will give four presentations about George Gershwin on Tuesdays in November at the Old Meeting House – November 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd from 10 a.m. to noon.

Town Business: The School Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. in the LHS Media Center. The Lynnfield Library Trustees meet at 5 p.m., while the Board of Appeals meets at 7:30 p.m. in the selectmen’s room.

LHS Fall Musical: Next month, the LHS Music Department presents its fall musical, "The Boy Friend." Shows run Thursday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 20. You can order tickets on the Lynnfield High School website by clicking here.

Flu Clinic: The Lynnfield Board of Health will hold a flu clinic for those age 19 and over on Friday, November 4, 2011, from 9 a.m. to noon. The Clinic will be held at the , 525 Salem Street, Lynnfield. Those taking part must have no allergies to eggs or egg products and no history of Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS). Most insurance is accepted, please bring your cards. There is a $10 fee for those whose insurance will not provide coverage for the flu clinic.

Area Transportation Issues: The North Shore Transportation Management Association is working with local chambers of commerce (including the Greater Lynn and Peabody Chambers) to try to improve the region's transportation issues. The organization is hosting a forum on Tuesday, November 15th from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Salem Planning Department on 120 Washington Street on the third floor.
