Today is Tuesday, November 8. Here are five things you need to know:

MIAA Tournament: In today's LHS playoff action, the boys soccer team plays Matignon in a 2 p.m. game at Jordan Park in Lynnfield. The girls team, the #12 tournament seed, beat #4 seed Ipswich on the road Monday afternoon. Their next stop is a north division 3 semifinal game on Thursday against either Shawsheen or Georgetown.

Town Business: The Selectmen meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Lynnfield Town Hall.

S'Wonderful! The installment of a four-part series of presentations on the work of George and Ira Gershwin continues today at the Old Meeting House from 10 a.m. to noon. .

Periodontal Evaluations: In observation of November being American Diabetes Month, Dr. Jeffrey Corbett of Lynnfield invites people to make appointments for a free periodontal evaluation on Monday, Nov. 14. Thanksgiving Luncheon: One week from today, the Lynnfield Senior Center holds its annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. Tickets are $7 and must be purchased in advance at the front desk.
