Today is Thursday, Nov. 29. Here are five things you need to know.

Winter Coat Donations: There’s a collection box at the front entrance of the Lynnfield Town Hall from Anton’s Cleaners seeking gently used winter coat donations. Coats will be accepted up until Jan. 12, 2013.

Leaf Recycling Center: The town has announced that the leaf recycling center will remain open until December 15 because of favorable weather. The center will be open for the following five dates only:
Saturday Dec. 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 8 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Gingerbread Houses: Lynnfield Community Schools has announced a Gingerbread House Construction class on Thursday, Dec. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The price is $35. Call LCS at 781-334-5814 to register.

2013 Calendar: The Brian Maes Band, which performs on the town common each summer and which has a guitarist, , reports that its 2013 Calendar is now available. To order one, send a check for $16 to Brian Maes, PO Box 538, Lynn, MA 01903.
