Today is Monday, Nov. 28. Here are five things you need to know.

Lynnfield Library: Today at 3:45 p.m., the Lynnfield Library hosts a party with stories and a craft in honor of the birthday of children's author Jan Bennett. Some of Bennett's best-known works include "The Mitten," and "Gingerbread Baby."

Gingerbread House Contest: This Saturday, Dec. 3, Lynnfield Recreation and the Girl Scouts of Lynnfield present the town's 8th annual Gingerbread House Contest in the foyer of the Centre Congregational Church. Viewing of the entries will be from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those interested in entering can call 781-334-9488 for more information.

Canceled Meeting: The School Committee meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 29 has been canceled. The next meeting will be on Dec. 13.

Flu Clinic: The Lynnfield Board of Health has announced a flu clinic for those aged 9 and up on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. No allergies to eggs or egg products, and no history of Gillian Barre Syndrome. Bring insurance card, $10 fee if insurance not accepted. Flu mist also available.

Congratulations to Lexi Buonfiglio of Lynnfield High School for placing 14th in the recent All State Cross Country Division 2 Championship. She finished with a 19.22 time and was preparing next for the Foot Locker Northeast Regional Championship at Sunken Meadow State Park, Long Island, NY. This event draws top runners from throughout the Northeast.
