LHS Volleyball playoff run ends with semifinal loss

Today is Wednesday, Nov. 16. Here are five things you need to know:

Volleyball: The LHS girls volleyball team lost its semifinal game against Frontier Regional, 3-0, capping an undefeated 20-0 regular season and a division 3 North title. Frontier Regional plays either Millis or Case for the state championship this weekend.

William Steig Birthday: Tonight at 6:30 p.m., the Lynnfield Library will have cake, a craft and stories to mark the birthday of William Steig, author of “Pete’s A Pizza,” “Doctor DeSoto, CDC?” and other popular children’s books.

Holiday Pop-Up Boutique: Next Thursday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., stop by the and check out the Holiday Pop-Up Boutique, featuring the work of more than a dozen vendors. Also bring a canned good to donate to the St. Luke's Food Pantry in Chelsea.

Flu Clinic: The Lynnfield Health Department holds a flu clinic for those aged 9 and older on Monday, Nov. 21 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at , 55 Summer Street, in the Board of Health Office. Non Lynnfield residents are welcome. PLEASE BRING INSURANCE CARDS. Most insurance is accepted. There will be a $10 fee for insurance that does not cover flu Immunizations. Flu Mist will be available for ages 9 to 49. Please wear short sleeves.

Football Fundraiser: Next Monday, Nov. 21, drop by the in Lynnfield from 5 to 8 p.m. for a rally dinner and fundraiser before the big Lynnfield/North Reading football game at North Reading. Customers will be able to have 15 percent of their dining tab donated to the Friends of Lynnfield Football.
