Five Things You Need To Know: May 30

Parade musters at OLA at 8:15 a.m. then reassembles at middle school at 10 a.m.

Today is Monday, May 30. Here are five things you need to know:

Memorial Day Parade: The parade musters at the Our Lady of Assumption parking lot at 8:15 a.m., followed by ceremonies at South Burying Ground and Willow Cemetery. Then, the parade reassembles at the Middle School at 10 a.m. and proceeds to the town common by way of the West Burying Ground, The Old Burying Ground and the Forest Hill Cemetery. Final ceremonies are on the common at 11 a.m.

A Longtime Tradition: Few Americans may be aware that Memorial Day dates back to the late 1860s and was originally called Decoration Day. For more interesting information about the history of Memorial Day, click here.
