Five Things You Need To Know: May 12

Town's annual Geraniumfest celebration is Saturday.

Today is Thursday, May 12. Here are five things you need to know:

LHS Pioneer Sports: At 3:45 p.m., the junior varsity and varsity baseball teams both play Rockport High School at home. There is also a 3:45 p.m. girls varsity lacrosse game at home against North Reading, followed by a 5:30 p.m. varsity game against that opponent. At the 3:30 p.m. the girls tennis team plays at Peabody High School.

Geraniumfest: On Saturday, the town will celebrate its 24th annual Geraniumfest. The town website is now featuring a complete calendar of events for the day. Check it out here.

Macular Degeneration Talk: The Lynnfield Senior Center is hosting a talk by Dr. Rodman at 12:15 p.m. on advanced lens implant technology and strategies for treating and preventing macular degeneration. The talk is free.

Youth Basketball Clinic: Tomorrow, UMass Lowell Women's Basketball Coach Sarah Behn will be in Lynnfield to conduct a basketball camp for players in grades 3-8. There is a 6-7 p.m. session for the boys and a 7-8 p.m. session for the girls, with a $5 fee. Registration online is at www.behncamp.com under "clinics" while those choosing to pay at the door are asked to arrive 15 minutes early.

College Rep. Night: Parents of students approaching college age may want to attend the at Lynnfield High School tonight in the auditorium from 7-8:30 p.m. The guidance department will be featuring admissions representatives from a number of New England colleges and universities.
