Five Things You Need To Know: May 1

Lynnfield School District announces school choice hearing is week from today, 7 p.m. at LHS Media Center.

Today is Tuesday, May 1. Here are five things you need to know.

Library Events: This Saturday at 10 a.m., bring the kids by the Lynnfield Library for a family story time. At noon, teens aged 13-18 are invited to the monthly meeting of the Teen Brunch Book Club meeting.

School Choice Hearing: The Lynnfield School District has scheduled a public hearing on school choice for next Tuesday, 7 p.m. at the Media Center. Community members are invited to attend.

Rabies Clinic: The town will hold a rabies clinic tomorrow (Wednesday, May 2) from 4 to 6 p.m. in the DPW garage behind town hall. Cost is $10. Those attending must bring documentation of previous rabies vaccinations for their pets.

Precourt Family Blood Drive: Girl Scout Troop 60528 is sponsoring the 3rd annual Precourt Family Blood Drive at the on Saturday, May 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be kid-friendly, with crafts and face painting. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old. Those aged 16 can donate with a signed parental form. Call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment.

Pioneer Sports: The boys and girls varsity tennis teams are both taking on Ipswich at 3:30 p.m. The boys play on the road while the girls team is at home. At 3:45 p.m., the varsity and junior varsity baseball teams play at home against Manchester Essex. Also, the boys lacrosse team is on the road against Ipswich, with the varsity game at 6:30 p.m. and the JV game at 5 p.m.
