LHS boys basketball has MIAA tournament bid ended with loss to Pope John.

Today is Wednesday, March 7. Here are five things you need to know.

MIAA Tournament: The LHS basketball team, a #7 tournament seed, lost to #3 seed Pope John 57-54 in an MIAA North Division 4 semifinal game on Tuesday evening in Chelsea. Pope John now goes on to play St. Mary’s in the division final game Friday night at Emmanuel College.

Author Event: On Friday, March 16 between 5 and 8 p.m., drop by and meet Beth Aldrich, author of "Real Moms Love To Eat."

The Portuguese Table: If you enjoy the cuisines of the world, you won’t want to miss the next Curious About Cuisine meeting at the library on Wednesday, March 14 at 3 p.m. Group members will welcome local author Ana Ortins for a presentation on Portuguese cuisine. Lynnfield Youth Soccer: The Lynnfield Youth Soccer Club (LYSC) would like to remind parents that registrations for the Spring 2012 U6 and U8 season is still open. To register, simply go to www.lynnfieldsoccer.com.  And if you're interested in coaching, you can sign up to volunteer on the website too.  

Kindergarten Parents Orientation: Lynnfield parents of all incoming kindergarten students for fall 2012 are invited to attend an Orientation Night on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. at .
