School Budget Hearing: The Lynnfield School Committee has scheduled a Public Hearing on the proposed FY ’13 School Budget. The Hearing will be on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the High School Media Center. Citizens of the community are invited to attend this Public Hearing.

MIAA Tournament Action: The LHS boys basketball team won a 47-45 victory over Mystic Valley on Saturday evening. Their next game is a semifinal against Pope John at Chelsea on Tuesday at 7 p.m. On Friday evening, the LHS hockey team saw their season cut short with a 2-1 playoff loss to Wilmington.

Town Business: Lynnfield Selectmen meet tonight at 7 p.m. at town hall.

Two Annual Nonprofits: Last May, with a walking event around Lake Quannapowitt. This year's event will once again be held in Wakefield, on Sunday, May 5. For more information, click here.

Also, Reid’s Ride is an annual 28-mile bike ride from Lynnfield to Gloucester that raises money for children’s cancer research. This year’s ride is on Sunday, July 15. Last year, hundreds of riders were required to raise at least $150 and left Lynnfield High School’s parking lot at about 7 a.m., in many cases finishing well before noon.
