Five Things You Need To Know: March 28

Tree Committee is another town entity that could use a hand from some new volunteers.

Today is Wednesday, March 28. Here are five things you need to know.

Tree Committee: Many town residents have by now received their Spring 2012 of Tree Talk, the newsletter of the Lynnfield Tree Committee. What people may not know is that the Tree Committee is another of the numerous Lynnfield boards and organizations in need of help from some new volunteers. Jane Bandini of the committee reports that “any individual who shares the passion, time and creativity to inform and inspire our community about the benefits of trees is welcome.” That said, the committee is also hoping to find a volunteer who has worked professionally in the fields of forestry or horticulture.

Finally, Bandini also reported that the annual Arbor Day Celebration will take place as part of the Geraniumfest event on Saturday, May 19. People will be able to participate in a contest where they hunt for clues about the benefits of trees, and there will be three trees as prizes.
