Five Things You Need To Know: March 23

Annual public hearing on town budget is tonight.

 Today is Wednesday, March 23. Here are five things you need to know:

Budget Hearing Tonight: The Finance Committee will hold its annual public hearing on the budget Wednesday evening at at 7 p.m. This is an opportunity for residents to share their concerns and opinions about the town budget for the coming year.

Tree Contest Extended: The is extending the submission deadline to the Amazing Trees of Lynnfield Contest until Friday, April 8th. There is still time to enter your Favorite Shade, Most Unusual or Best Climbing tree into this year’s contest. Photos are not required – draw a picture, or just tell us why a tree you know is amazing. Win-A-Tree this spring at our annual Arbor Day celebration on May 7th. Submission forms are available at the Conservation Commission office, the library and post office or on-line at www.town.lynnfield.ma.us.

Next Week: A College Fair for Children with Learning Differences will be held at Woburn Memorial High School (8 Montvale Ave.) on Thursday, March 24, from 6-8 p.m.  There are many colleges who welcome students with unique talents, strengths, and learning styles, so this is a great opportunity to explore these options.

Face Off For Ace: Tonight, the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation holds its Face Off For Ace 2011, featuring the Stanley Cup, at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge. A number of Boston Bruins alumni are expected to be on hand, among others. For more information, click here.
