Five Things You Need To Know: March 15

Community celebration for retiring Lynnfield Community Schools Director Susan Leffler tonight at 6 p.m., Lynnfield Middle School.

Today is Thursday, March 15. Here are five things you need to know.

Susan Leffler Celebration: This evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m., stop by the Café for a community celebration in honor of Susan Leffler, who recently retired from her position as director of Lynnfield Community Schools after 24 years. The celebration is being held by Lynnfield Community Schools and the town’s parent teacher organizations.

Father/Daughter Dance: Tomorrow (Friday) is the last day to purchase tickets to the Lynnfield Recreation Commission’s annual Father/Daughter Dance. You can download a registration form on the Recreation Commission website. Tickets are $55/couple and $10 for each additional daughter. Call Tricia Torosian at 781-334-9488 for more information.

Lynnfield Girls Softball: Spots are still available for girls in grades 5-8 who are interested in playing for Lynnfield Girls Softball this spring. An assessment is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 at Lynnfield Middle School. Call Jerry Guerra at 781-718-2403.

True Crimes Presentation: This Tuesday, March 20, come see “True Crimes From the Court of New England,” a presentation at the featuring author and former trial lawyer Diane Rapaport. The event is presented by the Lynnfield Historical Society. Rapaport’s latest book is “The Naked Quaker: True Crimes and Courts of Colonial New England.”

International Dinner: Next Thursday, March 22 at 6 p.m., help raise funds for children sponsored by the Lynnfield High School French, Spanish and Latin clubs while enjoying various international foods. Free admission for students who bring food. Donated items for raffle will also be greatly appreciated. Admission $5.
