Town override vote (and two LHS playoff games) are today.

Today is Monday, June 6. Here are five things you need to know.

Override vote: The town votes today on whether to accept a $560,000 override of Proposition 2 1/2. All town voters will cast ballots at Lynnfield High School from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. For some background information on the override vote, check out this on Lynnfield Patch.

Underclass Awards This Week: Last Thursday, Lynnfield High School seniors had their awards ceremony. This week, the underclassmen have their own awards ceremony, Thursday June 9 at 7 p.m. at LHS.

Playoffs: Lynnfield baseball plays at Bishop Fenwick in an MIAA tournament quarterfinal game at 4 p.m. Also, the girls varsity tennis team continues its own drive for playoff excellence with a 3:30 p.m. match against Ipswich.

Spring Coffeehouse: Monday night is the Spring Coffee House at Lynnfield High School at 7 p.m.

Another Busy Weekend: Next Saturday will have a couple of events of interest to Lynnfielders. First, the 34th Annual Fire Truck Parade and Fire-Matci Flea Market are this Saturday, June 11, starting at 10 a.m. at LHS and moving to 400 Audubon Road in Wakefield. The flea market part runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also on Saturday is the kickoff of the library's summer reading program. Registration begins at noon, followed by 1 p.m. stories and songs for the whole family.
