Bring the kids by the library at 2 p.m. to celebrate the birthday of author Eric Carle. Tomorrow, it's the senior center's annual classic car show.

Today is Monday, June 25. Here are five things you need to know.

Town Business: The Lynnfield Selectmen have announced they will meet today at 3 p.m. at town hall.

Library Activity: If you’re looking for a fun activity with the kids to start the week with, drop by the Lynnfield Library on today at 2 p.m. to help celebrate the birthday of children’s author Eric Carle, author of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and more. Stories and a collage craft, as well as light refreshments.

Classic Car Show: Tomorrow the holds its annual classic car show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will also feature oldies music, a hot dog lunch for $2, and a cookie sale and cake bingo to raise funds for the Friends of the Lynnfield Senior Center.

Recreation Station, Jr. - The Lynnfield Recreation Station Junior is accepting applications for children entering Kindergarten in 2012.  The Program will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 am – 12 pm starting July 3.  You can print an application from the Recreation Commission website. Scavenger Hunt: Local nonprofit group Gathering Change is having a scavenger hunt at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield on Saturday, July 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The hunters’ fee is $20 and participants can assemble their own team of 4 or they can arrive and join a team there.
