Five Things You Need To Know: June 19

Rec Commission's Recreation Station Junior program now accepting applications for children entering Kindergarten.

Today is Tuesday, June 19. Here are five things you need to know.

Recreation Station, Jr. - The Lynnfield Recreation Station Junior is accepting applications for children entering Kindergarten in 2012.  The Program will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 am – 12 pm starting July 3.  You can print an application from the Recreation Commission website. Revised Concert Schedule: There’s been a change to the 2012 Concert Series on the Common. The show scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 at 6 p.m. will now feature the New Orleans-style sounds of the Squeezebox Stompers. The first concert of the series is Wednesday, July 11 when Evolution returns to the town common, also at 6 p.m.

From The Lynnfield Senior Center: Join us on Tuesday, June 26th from 11 -1pm for our annual classic car show. We'll have over 30 cars on display in our front parking lots. After viewing the cars and visiting with the owners, come inside for a Hot Dog Lunch for $2.  We'll have a fun Cake Bingo game going -- bring your quarters and win a cake!  The Friend's will be holding a Cookie Sale. Bring The Kids!!!!  We will be running a shuttle from the Our Lady of the Assumption Church parking lot for overflow parking.

Town Business: The board of health meets at 5:30 p.m. at town hall. The conservation commission meets at 6:30 p.m., also at town hall.

Scavenger Hunt: Local nonprofit group Gathering Change is having a scavenger hunt at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield on Saturday, July 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The hunters’ fee is $20 and participants can assemble their own team of 4 or they can arrive and join a team there.
