Today is Thursday, July 7. Here are five things you need to know.

Memorial Vigil: There is a vigil currently planned for tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Middle School football field in memory of Sidney Vinci, the four-year-old Lynnfield girl who drowned Monday evening during a Fourth of July gathering.

Colon Cancer Fundraiser: On Saturday, July 16, friends and family members of former Lynnfield resident Marcie Kennedy will gather on Lake Quannapowitt at 9 a.m. for a three-mile walk around the lake in her memory, raising money to benefit the Colon Cancer Alliance. An article appearing on Lynnfield Patch in the next several days will contain more information for individuals who would like to get involved or make a donation.

Summer Concerts: Last night, the town kicked off its summer concert series with a performance by the band Evolution. Next Wednesday evening, July 13, at the town common is Bob Bachelder's Totem Pole Orchestra.

Yoga Class: Yoga is a great and relaxing way to maintain your health and physical fitness. And on Thursdays, the Lynnfield Senior Center has a class at 10 a.m.

Recreation Station: Today is the first day of the Recreation Commission's Recreation Station summer program, which kicks off at 9 a.m. at Summer Street School. Information about the program is on the recreation commission webpage.
