Teddy Bear Checkup Day is today at Lynnfield Public Library.

Today is Friday, July 6. Here are five things you need to know.

Teddy Bear Checkups: Today at 10 a.m., the Lynnfield Library presents a teddy bear checkup day. Bring the kids by to get a checkup for their teddy bear (or other favorite stuffed animal), and also to enjoy a snack and stories about teddy bears. 

Scavenger Hunt: Local nonprofit group Gathering Change is having a scavenger hunt at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield on Saturday, July 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The hunters’ fee is $20 and participants can assemble their own team of 4 or they can arrive and join a team there. Blood Drive: On Saturday, July 14 at 9 a.m., the Red Cross is having a blood drive in Lynnfield at Our Lady of the Assumption School. 

Bike/Horribles Parade:  The town’s annual Horribles Parade is coming up next week, featuring contests for decorated bikes, doll carriages and floats. Registration begins at 3 p.m. on the town common at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 and the fee is $5 per child, not to exceed $10 per family. The event is being organized by the LHS Rotary Interact Club and will also feature a DJ, kids’ games, a pie eating contest, and more. The free concert on the common begins at 6 p.m., featuring local band Evolution.

Town Business: The next meeting of the Lynnfield Selectmen is on Monday, July 9 at 7 p.m. at town hall.
