Today is Thursday, July 5. Here are five things you need to know.

Concert And Parade: Next Wednesday, July 11, the town kicks off its annual summer concert series at 6 p.m. (featuring local band Evolution) – and there will also be a horribles parade before the concert, registration is $5 per child and it starts at 3 p.m. For more information about the event, click here.

Concert Schedule: Speaking of the town’s concerts on the common, here is the 2012 schedule: Along with Evolution on July 11, the Brian Maes Band plays July 18, the Squeezebox Stompers are July 25, and ‘60s Invasion on August 1. All concerts are on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. on the town common.

Katherine Clark: The constituent service hour that was scheduled for Friday, July 6 with State Senator Katherine Clark has been canceled.

Trail Mix Mixer: Before next week’s concert/horribles parade, bring the kids by the Lynnfield Library at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 for a trail mix mixer. The kids will enjoy some stories about epic climbing adventures, and they will get to make their own trail mix using nut-free ingredients provided by the library.

Lynnfield School District: LHS students interested in trying out for a fall sport can check the school district’s website for a link to a PDF file showing the tryout schedule. Another interesting link is the technology committee’s report.
