Summer Concerts: The Lynnfield Summer concert series wraps up next Wednesday, August 1 on the town common from 6 to 8 p.m. with ‘60s Invasion.

Skype With Children’s Author: On Wednesday, August 15 at 2:30 p.m., the Lynnfield Library has its first-ever virtual author visit with Deb Lund, author of "Dinosauring" and other children's books. The kids will read some of her books together and think of some questions to ask Lund beforehand. Registration required. Call Laura or Pam at 781-334-5411 to sign up..

Road Scholars: Michele Ellicks from the MassDOT/RMV will be at the senior center on Thursday, August 16 at 12:30 p.m. to discuss issues facing older drivers, rules of the road, warning signs of unsafe driving, new laws and recent changes that have taken place at the RMV. She will also discuss what driving alternatives are available in your community. Free. Please sign up at the front desk. Lunch is at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch at the front desk by 12 noon the day before. Please sign up for lunch and the lecture separately.

From The Rec. Commission: The LHS Girls Basketball Team & The Lynnfield Recreation Commission is offering a Summer Slam Basketball program for girls entering Grades 4 -9.  The sessions will take place on August 13, 15, 20 & 22 at the Lynnfield Middle School. Thunderstorms: Today, tomorrow and Saturday, there’s a chance of severe thunderstorms passing through the area. In fact, Thursday night’s weather could even see some storms with hail falling. Forecast from the National Weather Service gives a 30% chance of rain on each of the next several days.
