Martial Arts At The Library: On Thursday, August 2, the Lynnfield Library is hosting a session for kids aged 8 and up focusing on Chinese martial arts, including warm up and cool down exercises. However, registration is required for this one. Call Pam or Laura at the library at 781-334-5411.

Asbestos Case: The office of Attorney General Martha Coakley announced this week that the owners of a Lynnfield asbestos removal company have pleaded guilty to numerous violations. .

Town Business: It’s a ways off, but if anybody was wondering, the next meeting of the Lynnfield Selectmen is on Monday, August 13 at 7 p.m. at town hall.

Softball Tournament For The Rice Family: An upcoming softball tournament will benefit the family of fallen Peabody Firefighter Jim Rice. The Jim Rice Memorial Softball Tournament is August 18-19 in Peabody and is open to teams of firefighters, police and EMS personnel. Volunteers are also needed for game day. Lunch And Travel Log: On Tuesday, July 31 at 11:30 a.m., the Lynnfield Senior Center has a lunch and travel log planned featuring Rick Steves’ Eastern Europe video. $5, sign up in advance with Elaine in the activity office. Seating limited.
