Five Things You Need To Know: July 10

Big band music this morning at the Senior Center. Conservation Commission meeting moved from July 10 to July 16.

Today is Tuesday, July 10. Here are five things you need to know.

Big Band: This morning at 9:30 a.m., the R&R 2000 Band returns to the Lynnfield Senior Center to play its big band and swing music. The band plays at the senior center the second Tuesday of each month.

Lunch and Lecture: Speaking of the Senior Center, it’s next lunch and lecture event is on Thursday at 12:30 p.m., focusing on Summer Health. Maureen Palla from Home Health Foundation will discuss the importance of hydration, staying out of the sun, healthy activity and the signs of heat exhaustion and how to treat it. Thurs. July 12th at 12:30. Free. Please sign up. Lunch is served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by 12 noon the day before. Please sign up separately for the lunch and the lecture.

Ice Cream Social: A week from today, the Lynnfield Library hosts a family ice cream social on Tuesday, July 17 at 2 p.m. The kids will hear a story about Clarabelle the Cow, by Cris Peterson, and they’ll be able to enjoy nut-free ice cream and toppings.

Town Business: The Conservation Commission meets on July 16 as opposed to this evening as previously scheduled. The board of appeals has a 7:30 p.m. meeting scheduled at town hall in the selectmen’s room.

Brad Jones: Rep. Brad Jones, Jr. has announced a constituent service hour at Lynnfield Town Hall on Friday, July 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
