Today is Monday, January 7th. Here are five things you need to know.

Town Business: The Lynnfield Selectmen meet tonight at 7 p.m. at town hall. Various department budget presentations and the vacancy on the board of selectmen are on the agenda.

Parents' Information Session:
On Thursday, February 7th, there’s an information session at the office of special services for parents of incoming preschoolers identified with a disability or who may have one. Click here for more information.

Gathering Change: On Wednesday, January 16th, Whole Foods in Swampscott will donate 5% of your pre-tax purchase to Gathering Change, Inc. This Lynnfield-based nonprofit group gathers donated pocket change at various events to help support North Shore food pantries.

A Note From Lynnfield Library: On Wednesday, January 9th at 3:00pm Lynnfield resident, teacher and nutrition counselor Anna Tourkakis will present “Fun & Healthy Drinks” on the Library mezzanine. Ms. Tourkakis teaches cooking and nutrition classes, gives healthy eating-related presentations and is a recipe developer. Join us for a selection of healthy — and interesting — beverages that Anna will put together for us: it could be Chocolate Chain Tea and Wassail or Pomegranate Cocktail and Spiced Hot Chocolate. Digital Photography Class: There’s a digital photography class coming up from Wakefield Cable Access TV – eight weeks for just $40, starting on Thursday, Feb. 7. .
