Five Things You Need To Know: Jan. 5

Arrange to have LHS swim team members pick up your Christmas tree as part of their annual fundraiser.

Today is Thursday, Jan. 5. Here are five things you need to know.

Swim Team Fundraiser: As part of their annual fundraiser, LHS swim team members can come and pick up your Christmas tree. Pick up dates are on the weekends of Jan. 7-8 and 14-15. Call Amy at 781-334-7018 to make arrangements. $10 donation for trees under 8 feet ($15 for over), all proceeds benefit the LHS swim team.

LHS Sports: Today, the wrestling team is at home against Masco at 6:30 p.m. while the ice hockey team is at Pentucket at 7 p.m. Also at 7 p.m., the swim team takes on Ipswich High School in a home meet at the Peabody/Lynnfield YMCA.

Privatus: Understanding your options – On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 12:30 p.m., Candy Costas, RN,BSN  will talk  at the Lynnfield Senior Center on dealing with healthcare and aging issues for you or a loved one, including selecting the correct rehab or assisted living and how the costs will be covered. Please sign up at the desk. 

Tree Recycling Center: The DPW Yard Waste Recycling Center will be open (weather permitting) to Lynnfield residents who have current recycling stickers beginning Tuesday, January 3rd to Saturday, January 14th from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. each day, excluding Sunday Jan. 8, to accept Christmas trees.

Kids Get Active: This Saturday from noon to 2 p.m., the Boston Sports Club is hosting Kids Get Active Day. Staff members will host energizing classes for kids while also providing information to help families stay fit and active.
