Food for fines ends Friday at the Lynnfield Library.

Today is Wednesday, January 2. Here are five things you need to know.

Food For Fines: Friday, Dec. 4 is the last day of the Lynnfield Library’s food for fines program. Instead of paying cash fines for your overdue books and movies, you can bring in canned goods and other items for those in need. Click here for more information.

Lynnfield Youth Lacrosse: Today is the last day to register for Lynnfield Youth Lacrosse. Fee is $195 and games are on Sundays during the springtime. Open to boys in grades 1 through 8.  To learn more or to register, click here.

Flu Clinic: The Lynnfield Board of Health has a flu clinic for those aged 9 and up at town hall, 55 Summer Street, on Thursday, January 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. The clinic is open to non-Lynnfield residents as well and Flu Mist will be available. Those seeking a vaccine must have no allergies to eggs or egg products and must have no history of Guillain Barre Syndrome. There is a $10 fee for those whose insurance is not accepted.

Chair Yoga: Join Kathy Riese at the Lynnfield Senior Center as she leads you through a gentle form of yoga that is known to help with such illnesses as hypertension, anxiety, chronic pain and more.  Wednesdays at 9:45. $5.00 per 45 minute class. Your 1st class is free. Come and give it a try!

Weather: The National Weather Service forecast shows clear and cold weather for the rest of the week. Nighttime temperatures are expected to be under 20 degrees at night through the week, with only a slight chance of snow seen on Thursday night.
