Today is Thursday, January 17th. Here are five things you need to know.

Town Business: The Board of Health meets at 5:30 p.m. in the selectmen’s room at town hall. The Field Study Committee meets at 7 p.m. in the same room.

Afternoon Discovery Group:
The Lynnfield Library’s Afternoon Discovery group meets today from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m.  Middle school students with an interest in science, technology and engineering are all welcome. No registration required.

A Note From The Lynnfield Senior Center: Yana Maltis and Thomas Furlong from Eastern Bank will talk about the basics of estate planning, the importance of titling and consolidation of assets, basic documents, the selection of fiduciaries and estate taxes. Wed. Jan.23 at 12:30. Free. Please sign up. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by 12 noon the day before. Sign up separately for the lunch and lecture.

New Play Coming Up: Speaking of local theater, the Quannapowitt Players are putting on a new play by Dustin Lance Black, “8,” which focuses on the legal battle over California’s Proposition 8 same-sex marriage ban.
