Five Things You Need To Know: Jan. 16

Trey the reading therapy dog returns to Lynnfield Library on Feb. 9. Four 15-minute sessions are available.

Today is Monday, Jan. 16. Here are five things you need to know.

Trey The Dog: Last month, Trey, a six-year-old reading therapy dog owned by Lynnfield resident Lyn Walfish, was at the Lynnfield Library for an hour to give some local children a chance to read to him. This form of reading therapy has been found useful for children who may become nervous while reading out loud or who may have similar difficulties. Trey is coming back to the library on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.  Parents interested in making one of the four available 15-minute appointments can contact Laura Bruynell, head of youth services, at the library at 781-334-2164. There will be a wait list once the four spots are filled.

OLA Open House:  Our Lady of the Assumption School is holding an open house on Sunday, Jan. 29 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
