Five Things You Need To Know: Jan. 14

Today is Monday, January 14th. Here are five things you need to know.

SEPAC: The Lynnfield Special Education Parents Advisory Council holds a presentation on basic rights in special education this Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lynnfield Preschool. All are welcome to attend. The workshop will help participants learn about special education law, the processes involving special education, and what their rights are.

Coffeehouse Music: The next coffeehouse event at the Lynnfield Community Church on Salem Street is on Friday, January 25th when the Just Harry Ensemble performs. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and shows are 7:45 to 9 p.m. The church holds a coffeehouse on the second and fourth Fridays of the month.

Preschool Screening: On Thursday, February 7th, there’s an information session at the office of special services for parents of incoming preschoolers identified with a disability or who may have one. Click here for more information.

Gathering Change Donations: Next Wednesday, January 16th, Whole Foods in Swampscott will donate 5% of your pre-tax purchase to Gathering Change, Inc. This Lynnfield-based nonprofit group gathers donated pocket change at various events to help support North Shore food pantries.

Note From The Senior Center – Foot Health: Maureen Palla from Home Health VNA will be here with a presentation that covers proper inspection of the feet, range of motion, abnormalities and protection.  Tuesday, Jan. 15th at 12:15. Free. Please sign up. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by 12 noon the day before. Please sign up separately for the lunch and lecture.
