Five Things You Need To Know: Feb. 27

Boys' basketball playoff at LHS at 7 p.m. Town's Tree Committee meets tonight as well.

Today is Wednesday, February 27th. Here are five things you need to know.

MIAA Tournament: Lynnfield High School boys basketball has a quarterfinal game against Manchester-Essex tonight at 7 p.m. at LHS. Lynnfield is a #4 seed in the North Division 4 tournament, while Manchester-Essex is a #5 seed. The winner of this game goes on to play either St. Clement’s or Malden Catholic.

The town’s Tree Committee, which works to preserve the scenic trees of Lynnfield, meets tonight at 7 p.m. in the town hall conference room.

Mixing In Math: Tomorrow (Wednesday) from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. , the Lynnfield Library hosts the Mixing In Math after school club for grades 1-4. The kids  explore math concepts through games and activities. No registration required.

From the Lynnfield Senior Center - Michelle Caron from the American Society of Legal Nurse Consultants will lead an interactive discussion that centers around sexuality, closeness and the need to be involved with others. She will also review how diabetes, hypertension, medications and other stressors come into play. Tues. March 5th at 12:30. Free. Please sign up. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by noon the day before. Sign up separately for the lunch and the lecture.

Dog Licenses: The town has announced that the period for getting a 2013 dog license ends on February 28th. You can get a renewal form here on the town website.
