Today is Tuesday, February 12th. Here are five things you need to know.

Finance Committee: There are currently two vacancies to fill on the Lynnfield Finance Committee. Are you interested in getting involved? Selectmen hope to fill these positions very soon, with the town budget process already underway. Send a letter of interest and your resume within the next two weeks to the selectmen’s office at town hall, 55 Summer Street, Lynnfield MA 01940.

Town Business: The School Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. in the selectmen’s room at town hall.

Chamber of Commerce: The newest member of the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce is the Soma Day Spa, which has a ribbon cutting today at 12:30 p.m. at 341 North Ave. in Wakefield. Click here for more information.

Dessert Demonstration: Tabatha from Sunrise Assisted Living will be at the Lynnfield Senior Center on Wednesday, February 13th at 12:30 p.m. to demonstrate one of her favorite desserts. Free, but you must sign up.

Lynnfield Library: Today at 3:30 p.m., they’ve got a Mardi Gras Party with stories and a craft scheduled for the kids. Tomorrow at 3 p.m., Christine Picciarello, owner of Christine’s Café and Confections in Lynnfield, is scheduled to talk to the Curious about Cuisine group at 3 p.m. with some party planning tips.
