Donate your gently used sporting goods (or pick some up) at Feb. 11 Girl Scout event.

Today is Wednesday, Feb. 1. Here are five things you need to know.

Sports Equipment Swap: Junior Girl Scout Troop 60186 has scheduled a community sport swap for Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Centre Congregational Church. Drop off unwanted, gently used sports equipment or trade or purchased some other items. Girl Scout cookies will also be for sale. Those who would like to donate items, ranging from hiking boots to tennis racquets to baseball and hockey gear and other items in between, can email the troop leaders at ellenpfriedman@verizon.net or erinomadden@gmail.com

LHS Sports: Today on the Lynnfield High School sports calendar, the varsity hockey team has a road game at Masco at 8 p.m. The junior varsity hockey team plays Marblehead in a home meet at the Peabody Rink at 8:15 p.m.

Lymphomathon: Last May, with an event around Lake Quannapowitt. This year's event will once again be held in Wakefield, on Sunday, May 5. For more information, click here.

Winter Golf: has announced that it is still open on a day by day basis. An announcement from the golf club says that it has three temporary greens, walking only, with a 9:30 a.m. daily opening time as long as weather conditions permit.
