Today is Thursday, Dec. 8. Here are five things you need to know.

LHS Sports: Scrimmages for the winter sports season are underway this week. Today, the wrestling team takes on Peabody in a  home scrimmage, while the girls basketball team has a scrimmage at home against Lynn Classical.

Town Recycling Center: The town DPW has announced that the leaf recycling center will be open for the remaining dates:

Cocoa And Stories: Next Tuesday, December 13 at 6:30 p.m., the Lynnfield Library is hosting a Hot Cocoa and Pajama Party in the Children’s Room. The date also happens to be National Cocoa Day.

LMS Council: The Lynnfield Middle School Council has a meeting today at 3 p.m.

LMS Gift Drive: The Lynnfield Middle School gift drive is now underway, and the community is invited to help the school supply holiday gifts to about 20 local families in need. Items like supermarket gift cards, stocking stuffers and Christmas stockings are among the items sought.
