Library's "Food For Fines" begins today.

Today is Monday, Dec. 5. Here are five things you need to know.

Food For Fines: Starting Monday and running through Jan. 20, the Lynnfield Library is running its Food For Fines program. For each non-perishable item brought in to donate, the library will deduct $1 from your overdue book fines. If you bring in boxes of cereal, diapers or containers of baby formula, you get $4 off your fines. (So be sure to start reading very, very slowly).  This will not apply to DVDs and videos or to damaged items.

Art Show And Sale: Looking ahead to the weekend already, on Saturday the Lynnfield Art Guild holds its winter show and sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Old Meeting House. Chances are there could be some good holiday gifts by local artists and artisans for sale.
