Today is Wednesday, December 26. Here are five things you need to know.

Christmas Tree Removal: With Christmas behind us, you can let the Lynnfield High School Swim Team take your tree away as part of its annul fundraiser. The pickup dates are January 5-6 and January 12-13. Click here to learn more.

Card Games: This Friday, Dec. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at the Lynnfield Library, teens aged 12-18 are welcome to come by for a card playing day, including favorites such as Wizard, Uno, and SkipBo. No registration required, and refreshments will be served.

Beebe Library Vacation Activities: The Beebe Library in Wakefield has announced that this morning (Wednesday) at 10 a.m., it has a story time for kids aged 3 and older. On Thursday, Dec. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon, it’s a craft buffet with crafts for ages 3-8. And on Friday, Dec. 28 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., it’s a snowy finger paint extravaganza for kids aged 3 and up.

Coffee House: The Lynnfield Community Church on Salem Street, right near Route 1, has been having coffeehouse events twice a month featuring a good range of local musicians. The next one is coming up on Dec. 28 featuring Stephen Beckwith, who plays American roots music from Harold Arlen to Hank Williams. For more information, click here.

Standing Room Only Theater: Following Sunday night’s “Civil War Christmas” concert in Wakefield, the next Standing Room Only event is “Rags To Riches: A Valentine Concert” On Thursday, Feb. 13, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. The New England Tenors perform with special guest Leigh Barrett.  Click here for more information.
