Today is Friday, Dec. 2. Here are five things you need to know.

Christmas Luncheon: The Senior Center's annual Christmas luncheon is this coming Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $7 and must be purchased in advance.

Coat and Toy Donations: The currently has two drop-off boxes set up, one seeking donations of gently used coats between now and Jan. 8, and the other seeking donations to Toys For Tots between now and Dec. 13.

Pet Adoption: PAWS, which runs columns each Saturday featuring local pets available for adoption, has an event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Subaru of Wakefield on 888 Main Street. Come by and check out some pets for adoption, raffles, bargains on pet items, and more. Dog and cat goodies will be provided to the first 200 visitors, and Dr. Beth Innis will be on hand to answer questions about alternative animal medicine. Call 781-246-6111 for more information.

Christmas Festivities: The town's annual tree-lighting is Saturday afternoon on the common. . For information about the Historical Society's Country Store, which is also on Saturday on Lynnfield Common, .

OLA Sugar Plum Fair: The Sugar Plum Fair is also going on tomorrow at Our Lady of the Assumption School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
