Five Things You Need To Know: Dec. 16

LHS winter sports season is in full swing.

Today is Friday, Dec. 16. Here are five things you need to know.

LHS sports: There’s a lot of basketball on the calendar today, with the LHS teams all playing against Ipswich. The boys JV game is at home at 5 p.m. while the girls JV team plays at Ipswich at 5 p.m. The boys varsity game is 6:30 p.m. at home, while the girls varsity team plays at Ipswich at 6:30 p.m. Tomorrow’s LHS sports will find the wrestling team participating in the Wakefield tournament, a JV hockey game at home against Triton at noon, and a varsity hockey game at 7:30 p.m. in Marblehead. The track team has a 10:30 a.m. meet at North Andover.

Sounds Of Christmas: On Sunday, Dec. 18, the Centre Congregational Church has its 6:30 p.m. Christmas Concert with the senior and youth choirs performining Vivaldi's "Gloria" and other selections.

Library Holiday Hours: The Lynnfield Library has announced its holiday hours. On Friday, Dec. 23, the library closes at 1 p.m. It will remain closed  over Christmas weekend until Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Kids Night Out: Boston Sports Club is holding a Kids Night Out event Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. Drop the kids off for some crafts, swimming, games, pizza and more. $20-$24 per child.

Flu Clinic: The Lynnfield Board of Health will hold a flu clinic at its office in town hall on Tuesday, Dec. 27 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for individuals aged 9 and up. Flu mist is also available. No allergies to eggs or egg products, and no history of Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS). Most insurance accepted, $10 fee if not.

Constituent Service: This morning from 11:30 a.m. to noon, Reps. Brad Jones and Donald Wong, or representatives from their offices, will be on hand at town hall for constituent service.
